Shipping Guidelines and Requirements
Antlers and Game Shipments
- FBX does not provide packaging materials or packaging services. All shipments must be dropped off ready to be loaded onto the aircraft.
- FBX has no refrigeration or freezer space available for large shipments of game, there is also no storage space at our facility.
- All perishable shipments MUST travel on the next aircraft available.
- All game is sent at Shipper’s Risk, meaning that we are not responsible for damage/spoilage.
- Ammunition, aerosol cans, and gas containers are all considered to be hazardous materials and must be declared when dropping the shipment off.
- Plan on bringing new plastic tarps as well as proper labels and tags, remember to clearly label the outside of your shipment with your name and phone number.
- Shipments cannot be leaking any type of fluids or gel.
- Check with local or state gaming officials for proper handling/packaging of meat both in and out of the field.
- Shipping outside of Alaska can be very expensive. Be sure to make arrangements with another carrier (FedEx, UPS Ground, etc) before your shipment leaves Kotzebue. If your shipment contains antlers or horns from an animal, be sure that the second carrier will accept the shipment.
Hazardous Materials (Hazmat)
- FBX does not provide packaging materials or packaging services. All shipments must be dropped off ready to be loaded onto the aircraft.
- Engines, ammunition, gas containers, explosives, oxygen bottles, aerosol cans, fireworks, and ORM-D are all considered to be hazardous materials and require extra handling fees. Failure to declare Hazmat is a crime punishable by federal law.
- When shipping a vehicle or engine, drain all fuel prior to bringing it to FBX.
- The keys to any vehicles will be required for shipping.
Dry Goods and Non Hazardous Materials
- FBX does not provide packaging materials or packaging services. All shipments must be dropped off ready to be loaded onto the aircraft.
- Be sure to clearly mark shipments with receiver’s name and phone number, etc.
- Cardboard boxes, plastic totes, wood or metal containers are all acceptable packaging.
- Please be aware that smaller boxes may be stacked with other small boxes when put on the aircraft, so take extra care when packing fragile items.
